Bill Mann

Bill Mann is a civil litigator, trial and appellate advocate who frequently represents clients before Ohio’s Professional Licensing Boards and Agencies. Bill also provides expert witness services on a select basis and dispute mediation services.

Bill was born and raised in the small north central Ohio town of Norwalk. He became a full-time college student before graduating from high school and received his BA. In Political Science from Case Western Reserve University in 1976. While at Case Western, Bill earned Honors in Political Science for his senior thesis, The President, The Congress & The War Powers. Bill earned membership in the History Honor Society and worked in the U.S. Congress, for Rep. Bella Abzug (D-NY), as Legislative Intern. During college Bill worked at Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital in Norwalk as a Radiology Orderly.

Bill received his J.D. (Doctor of Jurisprudence) in 1979 from the University of Dayton School of Law. At UD Law, Bill was named Best Oral Advocate in each of the four rounds of the school’s Intramural Moot Court Tournament. He was a member of the school’s Moot Court Team that competed in a Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Law School. Bill’s team defeated teams from Wake Forrest University School of Law, Capital University School of Law (two teams) and Duke University School of Law. During law school, Bill was a Judicial Law Clerk at the Huron County Court of Common Pleas.

After graduating from UD Law, Bill was a Judicial Law Clerk at the Court of Appeals of Ohio, Sixth Appellate District, and then worked as a Judicial Law Clerk at the Supreme Court of Ohio.

Bill was a member of the Ohio State Bar Association’s Legal Ethics and Professional
Conduct Committee (a Certified Grievance Committee) from 1987 -2015, was a member of the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Professionalism Commission for two terms and served two terms on the University of Dayton Law School’s Alumni Board of Trustees. Bill was President of the Central Ohio Association for Justice (2001-2002), received the COAJ’s President’s award twice and received the COAJ’s Slugger’s Award, given to an attorney who hit a home run for justice.

Bill was an incorporator and one of the founding members of the Norwalk Community Development Corporation, a company providing funding to promote economic growth in the Norwalk, Ohio area. Among the people Bill most admires are General George Patton, Civil Rights leaders Rosa Parks and John Lewis, Robert Kennedy and all the NASA Mercury, Gemini and Apollo astronauts.

Bill lives in Columbus, Ohio with his German Shepherd Dog Thor, his cat Banzai, and they all root for THE Ohio State University Buckeyes.
